Michigan’s Severe Weather Awareness Week is scheduled from March 24-30, 2019. A statewide test of the tornado sirens, outdoor warning speakers and desktop alerting will occur at 1:00pm on Wednesday, March 27. The Michigan State University Police Department encourages community members to be prepared when severe weather occurs. If there is inclement weather on March 27, 2019, the test will be rescheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 1:00pm. The desktop alerting software called “Alertus” will launch a “pop-up” message to computers loaded with that free software. If you wish to download the software to participate, please go to alert.msu.edu.

Synopsis: An unknown subject stole property from an unlocked room in East Akers Hall.

Timely Warning for Burglary occurring on the East Lansing campus reported by Michigan State University Police Date Reported: 03-15-2019
Occurred 03/15/2019 at approximately 6:14 p.m.
Synopsis: An unknown subject entered a resident’s room in Wilson Hall and then committed an assault and battery on the victim. Victim sustained minor injuries. No weapons were used in this incident.
Suspect Information: Black female, 5 feet 1 inch tall, thin build with straight shoulder-length hair.
Vehicle Information: No vehicle

Michigan State University Police Department encourages community members to reduce their chances of becoming a victim of burglary or theft by keeping the following safety tips in mind: • Secure your residence, office, and vehicle by locking all doors and windows • Never leave your property unattended in a public space
• Secure all valuables when possible
• Do not let strangers into residence halls or buildings that require secure access • Be aware of the green light emergency phones as they are a direct line to assistance • Report any suspicious activity to the police If you have information about this incident, or any other crime on campus, please contact the Michigan State University Police Department at 517-355-2221, or 911 for emergencies/crimes in progress. LARCENY ON CAMPUS
This is an MSU ALERT from the Michigan State University Police regarding the East Lansing Campus.
A larceny occurred on the sixth floor of East Mcdonnel Hall, tonight between 1235 am and 1240 am. An unknown suspect entered a room through an open door and took a backpack containing a laptop. No one was in the room at the time. If nearby use caution. Contact the Michigan State University Police Department to report any unusual or suspicious activity. Sent at 140 am on 02/16/2019
