Michigan’s Severe Weather Awareness Week is scheduled from March 24-30, 2019. A statewide test of the tornado sirens, outdoor warning speakers and desktop alerting will occur at 1:00pm on Wednesday, March 27. The Michigan State University Police Department encourages community members to be prepared when severe weather occurs. If there is inclement weather on March 27, 2019, the test will be rescheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 1:00pm. The desktop alerting software called “Alertus” will launch a “pop-up” message to computers loaded with that free software.
