MSU Alert: Timely Warning for Attempted Robbery

Date Occurred: 04-28-2022 at 9:00 p.m.

Location: South River Trail near the Business College Complex (west of Bogue St)

Synopsis: Victim reported that on 04-28-2022 at approximately 9:00 p.m. a suspect approached from behind and attempted to forcibly take their backpack. The victim was wearing the backpack at the time and was able to prevent the suspect from taking it. The suspect then left in an unknown direction.

Suspect Information: The victim described the suspect as a light completed black male, thin build, approximately 6 foot tall, wearing dark clothing and carrying a backpack.

  • Be aware of the green light emergency phones as they are a direct line to assistance

Michigan State University Police TIMELY WARNING for Aggravated Assault: On 12/13/2021 at approximately 3:37 p.m. local police responded to a report of shots fired near the MSU College of Human Medicine Building which is located at 200 E 1st St, Flint, MI 48502. At this time the investigation indicates that a shooting did occur, however there is no imminent threat to the MSU community. Police are on scene investigating. Timely Warning for Motor Vehicle Theft occurring on the East Lansing campus reported by Michigan State University Police Date Reported: 09-14-2021 Date Occurred: Between 9/2/2021 and 9/13/2021 Location: East Lansing Synopsis: In an effort to provide timely and accurate information to our MSU community, the following information is being provided to you so that you can make informed decisions about your safety. Date Reported: Between 9/3/2021 and 9/13/2021 Date Occurred: Between 9/2/2021 and 9/13/2021 Location: Butterfield Hall (1), Bailey Hall (1), 1855 Place (2), Lot 64 (1), and Ramp 7 (1), and Lot 89 (3) Synopsis: Nine moped thefts total were reported to have occurred across campus during the period of 9/2/2021 and 9/14/2021. The locations of the moped thefts were: Butterfield Hall (1), Bailey Hall (1), 1855 Place (2), Lot 64 (1), Ramp 7 (1), and Lot 89 (3). Specifically, on 9/13/2021, MSU Police and Public Safety received 3 separate reports of mopeds being stolen or attempted to be stolen from Lot 89 between 9/10/2021 and 9/13/2021.
